Day wise Itinerary - Sandakphu - Phalut Trek : 6-Days Trek

Day 1: Manebhanjan (2,100m) → Tumling (2,900m) | 11 km | 5-6 hrs
  • Start from Manebhanjan (permit required).
  • Trek through Meghma and Chitrey (Buddhist monasteries).
  • Gradual ascent through rhododendron forests.
  • Overnight at Tumling (India-Nepal border, stunning sunset views).
Day 2: Tumling → Kalipokhri (3,175m) → Sandakphu (3,636m) | 18 km | 7-8 hrs
  • Trek via Gairibas and Kalipokhri (Black Pond, sacred to Buddhists).
  • Steep climb to Sandakphu (highest point in West Bengal).
  • Highlights: Panoramic views of Kanchenjunga, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu.
  • Stay overnight at Sandakphu.
Day 3: Sandakphu → Phalut (3,600m) | 21 km | 7-8 hrs
  • Long but scenic trek along the Singalila Ridge.
  • Pass through Sabarkum and Molley.
  • Phalut offers 360° Himalayan views (Kanchenjunga, Everest, and Chomolhari).
  • Basic accommodation at Phalut Trekkers’ Hut.
Day 4: Phalut → Gorkhey (2,200m) | 15 km | 5-6 hrs
  • Descend through alpine forests to Gorkhey (a serene village).
  • Cross the Gorkhey River (picturesque wooden bridges).
  • Stay in homestays, experience local culture.
Day 5: Gorkhey → Srikhola (1,900m) | 10 km | 4-5 hrs
  • Gentle descent along the Rammam River.
  • Reach Srikhola (famous for crystal-clear river).
  • Relax by the river or explore nearby waterfalls.
Day 6: Srikhola → Rimbik (2,200m) → Drive to Manebhanjan | 10 km trek + 3-hr drive
  • Short trek to Rimbik (last trekking village).
  • Drive back to Manebhanjan via Dhotrey.
  • Trip ends.
